Grenache Syrah Cotes Du Rhone France
Chapoutier have been a part of Rhône Valley viticulture since 1808. Within their portfolio of great vineyards, are many old and distinguished sites which can trace a heritage back to the company's establishment during the reign of Napoleon. The timeless and enduring cépage of Grenache and Syrah in equal proportions, Belleruche is a passionate expression of the Côtes du Rhône, sourced from vines planted to some of the most noble and ancient winegrowing precincts in all France.
Les Vignobles providing fruit for the vinification of Belleruche are spread out across several appellations along the Côtes du Rhône, Drôme and Vaucluse, Gard and Ardeche. Vines are planted on slightly varied soils, alluvial clays, sand and limestones, a patchwork which contributes extraordinary richness and complexity to the final wine. Grapes are all hand harvested at full maturity, destemmed and macerated over a period of fifteen days, extracting tannins and developing good structure which permits the ageing and guarantees stability of the wine. Following inoculation and vinification in a selection of traditional fermenters, Belleruche is aged in large oak vats and assembled in the spring.
Garnet red colour. Red fruit aromas, morello cherries and red liquorice, milled pepper, bay leaf and spice. The palate exhibits great structure, layered with crisp red currant and bramble fruit flavours, olives and applejack, before resolving on an engagingly aromtic finish, over a length of firm, sustained and silky tannins.
