Rums
Grand Anejo Butterfly label Rum can trace it's origins to the village of Angostura in Venezuala during the South American wars of independence against colonial rule. The secret recipe migrated along with the Siegert familt to Trinidad where Angostura Bitters and the extremely fine Angostura Grand Anejos are still made. Trinidad Distiller's Limited became the home of Angostura Rum in the early 1900s. In 1904 Angostura was granted an appointment to the King of Prussia and in 1907 to King Alfonso XIII of Spain. A few years later Angostura (Dr. J.G.B. Siegert & Sons Limited) won appointment to the court of Great Britain's King George V
Angostura Grand Anejo exudes subtle notes of treacle, chocolate and gentle smokiness. The palate is rich and powerful, offering a tantalizing hint of burnt spice which tapers off into the classic Rum finish
