Sandro Mosele is one of Victoria's most accomplished vignerons, his celebrated editions of Kooyong and Port Phillip estates are amongst the most cherished renderings of Burgundy styled Pinot Noir in the nation. Mosele has applied his art to a precious parcel of fruit, picked off a single, modest block of vine, grown to the fully fertile soils of a lamb and beef stud, on the brisk, maritime blown coastals of Gippsland South. This is not Pinot for profit, Walkerville represents an aesthetic appreciation of fruit from the farmer, invigorated by the blessings of providence and consecrations of local livestock. A cornucopia of comely characters, forcemeats and fennel, pectins and pith, Walkerville make Pinot Noir as it should be, bucolic, pastoral, articulate of the land whence it came. The Australian winemaking industry is grateful to Leontine O'Shea, instrumental in the establishment of Mount Pleasant wines, she sent her son Maurice to France for an education in viticulture right at the outbreak of World War I, gifting him his first Hunter Valley vineyard in 1921. Mount Pleasant are now custodians of some grand old sites, a canon of small, elite blocks of vine that yield a precious range of icon wines, which represent peerless value and readily disappear before release of the following vintage... Beresford

First established as a grape-growing region in 1838, it wasn’t until the late 1880’s that McLaren Vale really boomed, developing a fine reputation for full bodied red wines. At the turn of the century a strong export market into the UK was created, long after exports from the other regions of Australia had dwindled. The proximity of the sea in the form of Gulf St Vincent, provides tempering sea breezes offering an excellent micro-climate for viticulture. With well structured soils, the Vale is a haven of consistency. Its endearing beauty, peaceful tranquility and gently undulating hills continue to attract people with their solitude and grace. A long tradition of full flavoured wines is being upheld by Beresford Wines.

Beresford's grapes are selected from as far as the windy Southern end of the Vale at Willunga, with its higher aspect and shallow, shaly soils, to the richer loams of Blewett Springs. Each source vineyard has been carefully selected for its distinctive flavour and aroma, profile, contributing its own uniqueness to each blend.

The winemakers at Beresford are very much hands on, working in partnership with the growers, from pruning through to the ripening season to ensure balanced vines and maximum fruit flavour development. The effort in sourcing the best fruit allows Beresford Wines to capture the true Essence of McLaren Vale.
