Beechworth attracts the most artisanal winemakers, the region's rich mineral soils and parched, undulating terrains, breed wines of vigorous flavour, crystalline textures and boney savoury tannins. The first parcel of Crown Land in the region was acquired by Isaac Phillips in 1857, he christened his estate Golden Ball and built a hotel named Honeymooners Inn, servicing miners on their way up the steep trails to the Beechworth goldfields. Just three kilometres from Young along Murringo Road, planted to a brisk 500 metres above sea level, Grove Estate was originally sown to vines in 1886, by Croatian settlers who brought cuttings from their farms on the Dalmatian coast. Newer blocks were gradually established around these priceless parcels, ostensibly with a view to supplying leading national brands. The quality of fruit became so conspicuous that Grove Estate sanctioned industry celebrities from Ravensworth and Clonakilla to begin bottling under their own estate moniker. Dugat Py Mazoyeres Chambertin Grand Cru CONFIRM VINTAGE

Pinot Noir Cote de Nuits France
The remarkably favourable mesoclimes of Gevrey Chambertin were known to the Romans over two millennia ago. They established the first vineyards in Burgundy here during the first century BC. The Dugat family can trace a history of local vitculture since the seventeenth century. One of the most eminent names in the Commune, they treat their fruit to a traditional Burgundian regimen of whole bunch ferments in old fashioned open vats, followed by an extended term of age in completely new oak, under the ancient cellars of the nearby Abbaye L'Aumônerie.
