Returned servicemen from the Great War could look forward to government grants of pastoral freehold. West Australia's Willyabrup Valley was such a place, just a short walk from the balmy beaches of Indian Ocean, it offered the veterans excellent potential for agriculture. The fertile lands of Sussex Vale were originally established to animal husbandry by the discharged troopers, generations of livestock enriched the soils and it was astutely sown to vines in 1973. Fortuitously placed at the very heart of the Australian west's most illustrious estates, it continued to occupy the thoughts of neighbouring Howard Park's chief winemaker, until he acquired the.. Right around the time that Frank Potts was planting his nascent Bleasdale Vineyards during the 1850s, an eccentric Prussian named Herman Daenke established a homestead along the banks of Bremer River, which he called Metala. The site was planted to viticulture by Arthur Formby in 1891 and became one of Langhorne Creek's most productive vineyards, it continues to supply fruit for a number of prestigious national brands. Legendary winemaker Brian Dolan took the radical step of bottling Metala under its own label in 1959 and won the inaugural Jimmy Watson Trophy in 1962. Two generations later, the brothers Tom and Guy Adams took a similar leap of faith and.. The goodly farms of brothers in arms»

Jacobs Creek are well positioned to produce the most luscious and fashionable sparkling Muscat wines. They know their vineyards well and keep an eye on the progress of the fruit as the growing season turns from veraison to ripening and onto vintage. Grapes are harvested early in the vintage, throughout the cool of night, when they have achieved the ideal flavours, the right amount of fruit sugars and perfect acidity. Each batch is gently pressed to retain pristine qualities in the juice, inoculated and vinified separately in temperature controlled tanks to retain the vitality of fresh Moscato grapes. A secondary fermentation adds subtle, creamy complexity, giving the wine its attractive fine gas bead and mousse. Approx 9.0%
Pale straw colour with a petulant bead. Fresh, delicate tropical aromas with undertones of pear and peach followed by hints of honeysuckle blossom. A light and refreshing palate with tropical flavours. The wine marries subtle pear notes with a touch of melon leading to a zesty sparkling finish.
