Planted to the tranquil Shangri-La of a sun warmed slope in Yarra Valley, TarraWarra was established 1983 by the founders of the Sussan and Sportsgirl brands. Philanthropists and patrons of the arts, Mr and Mrs Besen, AO and AO respectively, took a highly aesthetic approach to the pursuit of viticulture. Healthy soils and happy fauna were the means to an end, good wine comes from a sound ecology, but great wine needs the inspiration of a holistic engagement with the arts. It is here at Healesville that habitues can savour the Sauvignon while immersing themselves amongst the work of our national masters. A costly collection of canvas by our merry Messrs Boyd.. Constructed during early settlement by a supervisor of colonial convicts, at the very epicentre of the market gardens which serviced Hobart, Clarence House is a heritage listed manor which remains largely unaltered since the 1830s. It passed through several hands before being acquired by the Kilpatricks in 1993, who answered the call of Bacchus and established the grounds to vine. There are now sixteen hectares of viticulture, several significant Burgundy clones of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with smaller plantings of Sauvignon and Pinot Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet and Tempranillo. What's most unique about the Clarence House vineyards are the soils and topography,.. Heirlooms of a hobart homestead»

Engineering types are innately suited to such viticulture. Colin Best embarked upon his sabbatical to the great vineyards of Burgundy's Cote d'Or. He returned to plant Pinot Noir on a craggy half hectare near Lobethal in the Adelaide Hills. An ancient masonry wool mill was outfitted for winemaking and Leabrook Estate was born. This is an aesthetic range of meticulously crafted, limited vintages, fashioned for the aficianado of bespoke, small batch, little vineyard wines... The lobethal libations of leabrook»

Jacobs Creek are well positioned to produce the most luscious and fashionable sparkling Muscat wines. They know their vineyards well and keep an eye on the progress of the fruit as the growing season turns from veraison to ripening and onto vintage. Grapes are harvested early in the vintage, throughout the cool of night, when they have achieved the ideal flavours, the right amount of fruit sugars and perfect acidity. Each batch is gently pressed to retain pristine qualities in the juice, inoculated and vinified separately in temperature controlled tanks to retain the vitality of fresh Moscato grapes. A secondary fermentation adds subtle, creamy complexity, giving the wine its attractive fine gas bead and mousse. Approx 9.0%
Pale straw colour with a petulant bead. Fresh, delicate tropical aromas with undertones of pear and peach followed by hints of honeysuckle blossom. A light and refreshing palate with tropical flavours. The wine marries subtle pear notes with a touch of melon leading to a zesty sparkling finish.
