Halls Gap Vineyard was planted 1969, along the steep eastern slopes and parched rocky crags of Grampians Ranges, at the very beginning of a renaissance in Victorian viticulture. Deep red colour, ruby hues. Intense dark fruit aromatics of blackberry and blackcurrant are complimented by richer notes of dark mint chocolates and roasting herbs. The palate is vibrant, laden with blackberry flavours, sage and rosemary herb. Firm, fine tannins frame a long, persistent finish of bright berry fruits over a length of savoury, toasted oak.
