There were two scrub covered parcels of land, just outside Pokolbin village along McDonalds Road, that local council had long set aside for use as cricket ground and cemetery. Both were ultimately auctioned off to the highest bidders and sown to vine. A third undeveloped site became the subject of a long running feud among the new and old neighbours. Dodgy invoices between the rivals were exchanged and the division of firewood became a further cause of contention. A truce was eventually called by the two protagonists, Brokenwood and Hungerford Hill, for the sake of healthy viticulture. The nascent blocks achieved international renown as the eminent Cricket Pitch and the Langtons Listed Graveyard Vineyard, establishing Brokenwood as one of the most cherished marques in Hunter Valley wine... Stella Bella Semillon Sauvignon Blanc CONFIRM VINTAGE

Semillon Sauvignon Blanc Margaret River Western Australia
Stella Bella is more than a name or a wine, it is an expression, a passion and a summation of things bright, spirited and beautiful. Stella Bella is fashioned to classic Margaret River dry white styling, an assemblage of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, the requisite regional white, displaying all the clean and crisp fruit flavours of each grape. Opulent and intense, a subtle biscuit character from lees stirring and oak. Chill slightly and enjoy alongside goat cheese recipes or marinated, barbecued prawns.

The temperate maritime climes and salubrious soils along Margaret River afford winemakers a palette of flavours and textures to construct the most vivacious wines and to perfect this topical accord of Sauvignon Semillon, the enduring style of classic dry white. Subtle climatic changes and soil diversity along this substantial stretch of coastal land allow for an extensive array of varietal expressions in both Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. It is the region's climatic ability to fully ripen Semillon that sets this genre of wine apart. From this treasure trove of choice, Margaret River's signature blend has evolved. A judicious measure of Russian oak in the Semillon ferment adds texture and vanilla spice.
Pale straw colour. A bouquet of elder flowers, black currants and gooseberry with nettles and sweet herb, yellow and pink citrus zest and just a dash of vanilla pod spice. A bundle of flavours, layers and textures on the palate. Lemon, citrus and limes, crisp, ripe, fresh. Exotic veils of sweet herbs, nettles and gooseberry flavours, stone fruits and cardamom spice. Citrus oil lemon notes on a finish of fruit tingling acidity.
