Established 1973, Woodlands of Wilyabrup were one of the first vineyards in Margaret River, planted with a view to emulating the great growths of Bordeaux. Recipients of the highly prestigious Jack Mann Memorial Medal and Wine Industry Lifetime Achievement Award for their tremendous vintages of all things Cabernet. Assembling the rich Medoc style blends are what Woodlands do best. Painstakingly crafted by hand, to challenge the primacy of the illustrious Chateaux de la rive gauche, very few vineyards yield the quality of fruit that merits vintaging into a statuesque wine dominated by the prettily fragrant Cabernet Franc. There are four tiny patches of vine at Scotchman's Hill, which have been mollycoddled by Robin Brockett, since the start of his tenure as chief winemaker in the 1980s. Excruciatingly limited after a strict pruning and rigorous sorting of fruit, they each yield a mere hundred cases of wine. Brockett has set aside the precious harvests of these superior blocks for his own label, a personal project to hand craft the finest of vintage, an exclusive range of the Bellarine's most elite single vineyard efforts. So besotted is Brockett by the spectacular quality of fruit from these four regal parcels, he has imported two 800 Litre Tuscan vinification Amphora from the.. Brockett begets the best of bellarine»

The Tscharke family immigrated to South Australia in 1861, they have been growing Barossa grapes and making good wine ever since. Their auspicious Touriga vines are a recent newcomer, purposefully planted to face the east, sheltering grapes from afternoon heat and direct sunlight. Fruit is harvested at lower sugar baumes, grapes are destemmed and crushed into open top fermenters for vinification at higher temperatures of at least 28°C. Batches are pumped over and plunged daily until fermented to dry, components are pressed and racked off gross lees to a selection of seasoned French oak hogsheads and puncheons. Alcohol 12.5%
Intense colour. Bouquet of sour cherries, geranium florals and a seasoning of richly piquant spice. A soft palate of sweet fruit flavours, ocean spray, cranberries and ribena, the savouryness of crushed autumn leaves and aromatic notes of turkish delight. Serve slightly chilled and match with olive bay leaf recipes, veal and light rustic fare.
