An Irish cobbler named Reilly settled into the tiny Clare Valley township of Mintaro circa 1856. He converted a stone barn into a homestead cottage. Reilly's Cottage served as the local cobbler's shop in the centre of the bustling town, which had boomed after the establishment of salubrious slate quarries. Almost 140 years later, the cottage has been restored to its former glory by relatives of Reilly, the family Ardill, once again it is a hive of activity, home to the eminent and award winning range of Reilly.. Originally formulated by John Charles Brown OBE in 1954 and crafted to this very day in the exact same manner, Brown Brothers flagship icon endures as one of the nation's most distinguished single vineyard wines. Mondeuse plantings were brought to Australia in the early 1900s by the legendary Francois de Castella of St Hubert fame, they have remained the most precious parcel of Brown Brothers heirloom vines since the 1920s. At Milawa, Mondeuse translates into an inky, deeply tannic wine, it forms synergies with the sweet fruit plumpness of Shiraz and statuesque elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon to coalesce into a rich, opulent style of eloquence and structure... Two Hands Brave Faces GMS CONFIRM VINTAGE

Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre Barossa South Australia
From the very beginning, Two Hands have been very well received by a healthy stream of accolades. Notable reviewer Robert M. Parker anointed Two Hands as the finest negociant operation south of the equator. Grenache, Mourverdre and Shiraz, Barossa through and through. Buoyant raspberry, red cherry characters with a restrained savoury palate, grainy tannins and delicately integrated oak. A serious food wine that shows what a wonderful marriage these three varietals make judiciously balanced with harmony in mind.
Available by the dozen
Case of 12
$323.00
Batches are de stemmed and crushed into open top fermenters, a portion are added as whole bunches, Shiraz is pumped over three times daily through the peak of ferments, Grenache and Mourvèdre are cold soaked and lightly plunged. Components spend a fortnight on skins, all pressings are rack and returned to the free run, some barrels are treated to extended lees contact. Batches are filled to a selection of older French oak foudre, hogsheads and puncheons for a year's maturation.
Bright red colour. Bright raspberry bouquet, dark cherrie and rose petal, jelly crystals and the sweet savouryness of deli meats. Bright and vibrant on the palate, jellied fruits, cherry drops and strawberries cream, rose water notes, a lovely interplay of creamy/ leesy textures, the gentle, chalky tannins run the length of palate, finishing with hints of white pepper, aromatic cedar oak and hints of smoked meats.
