Banrock Station upon River Muray is the perfect environment to practice environmentally friendly viticulture, and to husband sturdy vines which are the source for full flavoured Preservative Free Shiraz. Significantly, at no stage in the winemaking process is preservative SO2 added. Banrock Station take care to select healthy grapes of high quality, exhibiting concentrated flavours and spritely acids. The wine is gently handled with meticulous care throughout all stages of vinification to avoid exposure to any elements which may lead to spoilage.
A unique pairing of good soils and cutting edge viticulture, Banrock Station is the home to some of South Australia's most desirable Shiraz fruit. The warm climate is ideal for producing easy drinking, rich and full flavoured wines. The vineyards sit among 3600 acres of natural bushland, a vital link between the surrounding native vegetation and local wetlands. Good vineyard management ensures excellence in the finished wine. Close planting and vertical shoot positioning, reduces the impact of reflected heat from the ground. Some malolactic fermentation in oak adds tannin for natural preservation.
