The 1890s brought boom years to the nascent Aussie wine industry, as connoisseurs throughout Europe and the Empire were introduced to the Dionysian delights of new world Claret by Tyrrell, St Huberts and Wirra Wirra. An enterprising family of Scots took heed of the times to plant grapevines on a uniquely auspicious block in Valley Clare, they called it St Andrew and produced forty vintages of the most sensational quality Claret until the 1930s. The Taylor family acquired the fallow farm in 1995 and brought St Andrew's vines back to life. The treasured block endures as home to the flagship range of Taylor wines, one of the most distinguished vineyards in all.. *according to the french»
Just three kilometres from Young along Murringo Road, planted to a brisk 500 metres above sea level, Grove Estate was originally sown to vines in 1886, by Croatian settlers who brought cuttings from their farms on the Dalmatian coast. Some of these ancient plantings, emigrated at a time when much of Europe was ruled by Hapsburg emperors, remain productive to this day. Newer blocks were gradually established around these priceless parcels, ostensibly with a view to supplying leading national brands. The quality of fruit became so conspicuous that Grove Estate sanctioned industry celebrities from Ravensworth and Clonakilla to begin bottling under their own.. Quiet consummations of grove estate»

One of our nation's enduring winemaking dynasties, the Hamiltons planted vines just outside Adelaide in 1837. Great grandson Sydney Hamilton was a legendary and innovative viticulturalist, he ultimately made his own oenological conversion to the sacred Terra Rosa soils of Coonawarra in 1974, establishing one of Australia's most distinguished vineyards on a highly auspicious site, naming the property after forebear Lord Leconfield. Alion Ribera Del Duero 1.5L MAGNUM 2006 - Buy
Tempranillo Ribera Del Duero Spain
Bodega Alion is a stylistically and regionally significant wine, adapted to the international taste at the end of the millennium, shaped by a standard of quality that knows no bounds, but which bears the mark of the character and personality of the River Duero whence it originates.
Bodega Alion was born next to the River Duero, in the vein of Vega Sicilia, but with a vocation that is independent and innovative. Alion's very beginnings boasted the aromas and tastes of a wine that was open, modern and attractive, full of strength and exuberance, with the exclusive expression of the Tinto Fino grape, a concept that was very different from the tradition of Vega Sicilia. Tinto Fino bears the character of River Duero, treated to the most up to date oenological practices, a year's maturation in exclusively new French oak barrels and a further twelve months ageing in bottle under the estate cellars, achieving a wine that is at once, monumental and refined.
Concentrated dark, colour. An intensity that's rare for a Ribera del Duero, it exhibits roasted expressions of Tempranillo and quality new French oak. On the palate, sweetened tannins of concentrated black fruit flavours blend with the dry creamy tannins. Alion is full of flavour, fleshy and strong, revealing a truly engaging complexity of fruit, the tannins will support at least ten years ageing.
