Crafted from the fruit of old and ancient vineyards, the opulence and exclusivity of Torbreck's painfully limited production challenge the primacy of Grange. Established by a share cropper in the 1990s, its precious range has risen to the status of First Growth amongst the community of ardent international advocates. Woodcutter is the entry level, assembled from parcels which may have been destined for some of the brand's lofty icons, an essential experience for all enthusiasts of compelling Barossa Shiraz... An Irish cobbler named Reilly settled into the tiny Clare Valley township of Mintaro circa 1856. He converted a stone barn into a homestead cottage. Reilly's Cottage served as the local cobbler's shop in the centre of the bustling town, which had boomed after the establishment of salubrious slate quarries. Beresford

First established as a grape-growing region in 1838, it wasn’t until the late 1880’s that McLaren Vale really boomed, developing a fine reputation for full bodied red wines. At the turn of the century a strong export market into the UK was created, long after exports from the other regions of Australia had dwindled. The proximity of the sea in the form of Gulf St Vincent, provides tempering sea breezes offering an excellent micro-climate for viticulture. With well structured soils, the Vale is a haven of consistency. Its endearing beauty, peaceful tranquility and gently undulating hills continue to attract people with their solitude and grace. A long tradition of full flavoured wines is being upheld by Beresford Wines.

Beresford's grapes are selected from as far as the windy Southern end of the Vale at Willunga, with its higher aspect and shallow, shaly soils, to the richer loams of Blewett Springs. Each source vineyard has been carefully selected for its distinctive flavour and aroma, profile, contributing its own uniqueness to each blend.

The winemakers at Beresford are very much hands on, working in partnership with the growers, from pruning through to the ripening season to ensure balanced vines and maximum fruit flavour development. The effort in sourcing the best fruit allows Beresford Wines to capture the true Essence of McLaren Vale.
