Giovanni Tait mastered the family tradition of coopering wine barrels before migrating to Australia in 1957. Starting out in the early 1970s with just one hectare of vine, Jean Marc Brocard has built up to a formidable 120 hectares of the most distinguished viticulture in Chablis. Remarkable for their natural water pebble acidity, a virtue of the minerality within a very special soil, infusing the wine with an exquisite tension which is the timeless signature of all great Chablis. Grapes are assembled from vines harvested off the most illustrious Premier and Grand Cru sites, planted to slopes on either side of the Serein River valley in which the ancient town of Chablis itself is situated.
