Discovered by Dr Bertel Sundstrup in 1987, after a long search for the perfect site, the amphitheatre known as Dalrymple is a mere twelve hectares of sun drenched bucolic idyll, at the very heart of superior viticulture on the beauteous Apple Isle. This is Piper's Brook central, a place of auspicious winegrowing climes, long hours of sunlight and extended ripening seasons, which yield fruit of remarkable succulence, gracious acids and satin tannins. Dalrymple are a small, unincorporated winegrowing concern, whose accord with the elements and devotion to the land, are best articulated by the leisured pursuits of their chief vigneron, whose favourite pastimes.. Stephen C. Pannell is one of Australia's most decorated winemakers, Jimmy Watson and twice Max Schubert Trophy winner, London International Winemaker of Year and Chairman National Wine Show. Pannell grew up amongst the illustrious plantings of his parents vineyards at Moss Wood, he established the profoundly artisanal Picardy of Pemberton and found time in between tours of duty at Wirra Wirra, Tintara and BRL Hardy, to do vintage in Burgundy, at the illustrious Mouton Rothschild and amongst the grand old vines of Barolo. Whatever the brand, regardless of vintage, S.C. Pannell's extraordinary wines are all distinct for their remarkable splendour, beguiling.. Peerless value by our nation's finest»
There were two scrub covered parcels of land, just outside Pokolbin village along McDonalds Road, that local council had long set aside for use as cricket ground and cemetery. Both were ultimately auctioned off to the highest bidders and sown to vine. A third undeveloped site became the subject of a long running feud among the new and old neighbours. Dodgy invoices between the rivals were exchanged and the division of firewood became a further cause of contention. A truce was eventually called by the two protagonists, Brokenwood and Hungerford Hill, for the sake of healthy viticulture. The nascent blocks achieved international renown as the eminent Cricket.. Kooyong Estate only make limited editions from tiny blocks of vine, a hectare or less, which yield deeply personal wines, highly eloquent of their terroir, aspect and clime. There are the pebbled ironstone soils of Farrago, which create an uncannily Burgundesque style of Chardonnay, redolent of grapefruits, mealy bran and wet flint. The precious half hectare at Faultline articulates the savouryness of seaweed and struck match. The sheltered lee of Haven Block encourages the grapes to bloom with chewy red jube characters. The windswept parcel at Meres infuses wonderfully perfumed rhubarb and ribena notes into a velvetine tannin structure. All are equally.. Venerable vintages from the most precious parcels»

Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough Wairau New Zealand
Marlborough's natural endowments are breathtaking to behold, the vastness and bounty of this beautiful land stirs the imagination and yields no finer example of Sauvignon Blanc than Braided River. The principal vineyard for Braided River sits on the confluence of the mighty Wairau and Waihopai Rivers in Marlborough. Riper characters here are achieved at lower sugar levels, offering great intensity and style at moderate alcohol levels.
Braided River's winemaking team are passionate about allowing Sauvignon Blanc's unique character to flourish in the vineyard, they work gently with minimal handling throughout vinification to ensure every glass is filled with the vivid signature. Gently crushed and pressed to minimise skin contact, the juices are settled at cool temperatures. Components are individually fermented, long and cool, with select strains of yeast to showcase their unique personalities. Once assembled, after a month resting on fine lees, each batch plays a role in the style of the finished wine as it was bottled fresh and early.
Light straw in colour. Lifted aromas of crushed lime and grapefruit dart from the glass and over the palate to excite the senses. Every sip of this superb Sauvignon Blanc expresses pure Marlborough magic, the palate is instantly rich and mouth filling before the juicy acidity refreshes the mouth and provides the vehicle for a long, fine, flavour packed finish. Enjoy with shellfish or goat's cheese souffle.

Braided River
The confluence of the might Wairau and Waihopai rivers is the site of the Braided River vineyards in Marlborough

Created over thousands of years, these vineyards showcase perfect soil structures and microclimates that consistently produce grapes with concentrated flavours and excellent varietal expression.

Braided River

The river rocks, stones and free draining alluvial loams over gravelly sub soils of Braided River's Marlborough vineyards restrict the root and shoot growth of the vines. This allows the viticulturist to manage the vines in a controlled fashion to keep the vine in balance and thus focus the vines energy into the fruit ripening process.

The end result is grapes with concentrated, ripe-flavours and aromas with excellent varietal expression. The depth of character of the fruit handed on to the winemaker is outstanding.
