Bombay Sapphire is one of the world's most immediately recognizable fine Spirits. Exquisite with a delicate hint of juniper, Bombay is also flavoured with almonds and lemon, liquorice and orris root, angelica and coriander, cassia bark, cubeb berries and grains of paradise including pepper, lavender, oranges and chocolate. The further inclusion of unmentionable liquors and essences remain a closely guarded secret, they give Bombay its intricacy and sophistication, all finished by the addition of pure water from an ancient lake in Wales.
The creation of Bombay Sapphire is truly unique. There are only a few Carterhead stills remaining in the world today and three are exclusive to Bombay Sapphire. Unlike many other gins, which boil their botanicals directly in the spirit, Bombay Sapphire's ingredients are held separate from the spirit in a perforated copper basket. The Carterhead stills remove any last impurities in the spirit vapour before it passes up through the basket, in a process known as vapour infusion, delicately enhanced by the aromatic flavours of fine botanicals.
Crystal clear. Ripe citrus nose, juniper and rounded spice. Exceptionally smooth palate, crisp and light, filling the mouth with hidden complexity, fresh natural flavours combine to create a gentle, aromatic taste layered with zesty citrus, delicate nutty oils, rich exotic spices and a hint of sweetness before ending with light lavender notes and a long peppery finish.
