Four Sisters is the creation of Mount Langi's maestro Trevor Mast, world famous for Shiraz. Fruit is sourced from vineyards in central Victoria, off vines up to ten years of age. Soil types vary from sandy loam soils with clay content through to very sandy silts on the banks of Goulburn River. Grapes are picked and crushed throughout the cool of night, modern winemaking techniques are employed to retain varietal freshness. Components are vinified in sweeping arm fermenters achieving a denser, richer colour and allowing for gentle flavour extraction. The finished wine is matured in a combination of French and American oaks, some parcels are aged unwooded to retain the fruit dominance of style. Alcohol 14.5%
Deep purple in colour. The fragrant nose displays subtle dark berry fruit along with hints of pepper and spice. The palate is elegant and finely balanced, showing dense berry fruit and overtones of spice, finishing with fine powdery tannins. A classic partner to wood fired pizza, rack of lamb or barbequed steak.
