Chandon's vineyards are something quite unique, an exhaustive resource for the creation of Australia's finest table wines. Pinot Noir has taken very well to Yarra Valley, where the temperate climes and auspicious soils, form mesoclimes not dissimilar from the varietal's origins in the old world. Fruit is harvested throughout the chill of early morning, bunches are gently crushed into fermenters and treated to a cold soak, essential for extracting just the right amount of colour and tannin from skins while retaining delicate fruit character. Juice are pressed off skins and vinified at cool temperatures to ensure the vibrant fruit flavours and subtle savoury tannins of Pinot Noir are retained in the finished wine.
Crystal clear, rose petal red hue. Fresh cherry, strawberries and raspberry red fruit aromas are supported by more complex Pinot Noir characters of apple spice, cranberry and orange peel. Bursting with juicy red fruit flavours, the cherry strawberry Pinot Noir continues on the generously proportioned palate. Gentle acidity completes the finish, refreshing, flavourful and long.
