Louis Roederer Brut Premier NV 375ml

Pinot Noir Pinot Meunier Chardonnay French Champagnes, Reims France
Highly esteemed by it's peers, a third of the wine is Chardonnay, the balance is Pinot Noir with a portion of Pinot Meunier from the very year of release. A further ten percent of mature reserve wines aged up to five years, are assembled into the final Cuvee. Whilst labelled as a non vintage, the components have been treated to an average of three years reposing on yeast lees.

The volume of Louis Roederer produced each year depends on a rigid set of qualitative criteria, and nature's willingness to comply. Every year at least two-thirds of the grapes must come from the estate's own vineyards, a strictly enforced policy. The number of bottles is therefore inevitably limited. Control of the quality of the grapes remains the key factor. Yields from each individual parcel, village or cru are always vinified separately, partly in small tanks partly in wooden vats. Minimal use of malolactic fermentation conserves the fruitiness and freshness of the wines. Meticulous care is taken to conserve the character of the individual wines whose distinctive characters will enrich the composition of the finished Cuvee.
Pale golden yellow in colour with a delicate persistent bead. Rich yet subtle bouquet of hawthorn, almonds and toast. The inclusion of reserve wines gives wonderful complexity and roundness to the fresh creamy palate. A perfect balance between the structure and fruitiness of the Pinot Noir and the finesse of the Chardonnay. Louis Roederer Brut Premier is a classic aperitif or celebratory Champagne. Serve chilled, and often, as the fullness and structure make it a superb accompaniment to all good foods.
