Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough Adelaide Victoria
Scotchmans Hill enjoy a long established repute for the most satisfying Victorian Sauvignon Blanc, their expertise with the varietal has delivered an unbroken run of salubrious editions which have become a staple of the Australian wine list. From their base of operations in Geelong, Scotchmans Hill have trekked the Adelaide Hills and sailed across the Tasman in pursuit of the finest Sauvignon Blanc. As exciting for it's flamboyance of tropical fruit as for pungent, green herbaceousness, serve chilled and enjoy alongside prawns, Thai chicken or yum cha.
Vines were first planted at Scotchmans Hill in 1982, establishing the second operating vineyard on the Bellarine Peninsula within modern times. Sauvignon Blanc was added some years later, and the winemaking team have since developed an intimate knowledge of the soils and microclimates most suitable for producing the very best. Marlborough would be the natural extension of Scotchman Hills endeavours at Sauvignon Blanc. Hand selected parcels from good vineyards are inoculated and vinified cool in controlled fermenters to retain maximum freshness, then treated to a term on gross lees to enhance complexity and develop fine textures.
