If you want to make good wine you must start with good fruit from a good vineyard. The right varieties need to be planted in the right place. Shiraz is selected from premier Margaret River sites selected on the basis of quality and consistency, the objective being to produce an elegant wine with complex aromas and characters, fine textures and a solid structure. Fruit is vinified in open fermenters and pumped over twice daily, aiding the extraction of varietal expression and tannin development. Maturation in a combination of new and seasoned French oak barriques for a year has achieved a wine of sophistication, completely integrating the fruit, oak and tannins while contributing structure and complexity. Alcohol 14.0%
Vibrant, youthful appearance, a good depth of colour. Ripe cherry and plum fruits with chocolatey notes and exciting spice the bouquet. The palate displays good depth of fruit concentration, ripe, sweet fleshiness in the middle palate and an extension of good varietal flavours.
