Gewurztraminer Marion Bay Tasmania
The focus at Bream Creek is on painstakingly managing vines by hand to yield small quantities of pristine fruit for the vinification of classic cool climate Tasmanian wines. Gew├╝rtztraminer loves the cold. Slow ripening gives berries time to develop stimulating flavours and spicey fruit characters.
The aromatic white varietals at Bream Creek are generally whole bunch pressed with a regimen of skin contact to achieve exquisite balance and fine structure. All the vines are meticulously hand crafted to capitalise on the stunning flavours that originate from predominantly mature stock which makes the wines very special. The original consortium which founded Bream Creek in 1973 planted Gewurztraminer to soils that were earmarked for their exceptional affinity to this pungent varietal. The estate was acquired in 1990 by one one of Tasmania's leading viticulturalists and has since become renowned for the quality and consistency of Tasmania's most representative boutique wines. Alcohol 13.8%
Mid straw colour. Opens with attractive lychee, perfume, blossom, rose and spice scents. The palate has plenty of fresh lively flavours, lovely fruit depth and a persistent zippy, zesty finish. Superb with Asian style cuisine and the freshest Tasmanian seafood.
