Set within the picturesque aspects of Valley Clare, the Leasingham tradition evolved from humble beginnings in 1893. Rich soils and cool, moist conditions were perfect foundations for what is today, the expanse of superlative Leasingham vineyards lying across one of Australia's premiere viticultural districts. In 1971 the H.J. Heinz Corporation acquired a controlling interest in Leasingham. In 1984 the production of Stanley wine casks was transferred from the Leasingham Clare Valley winery to New South Wales. Since then, the historical wineworks at Leasingham have been free to concentrate on crafting elegant wines. Today the Leasingham name is synonymous with superlative and enduring Clare Valley Shiraz.
Deep ruby red with purple hues. A bouquet of intense, freshly milled spice, blackberry notes and anise, minty chocolates and espresso notes. The palate is rich and concentrated, showing black cherry and plum spice with fruitcake and coffee, balanced by finely textured mouth watering tannins, before a smooth and persistent finish. Enjoy with suckling pork or salt bush lamb.
