Muscat Rutherglen Victoria
Small yields of Muscat à petits grains from younger vines grown to the quarantined Chambers Rosewood Vineyard at Rutherglen, are aged and assembled with older stocks to create an entry level into one of Australia's most internationally cherished dessert wines.
The secret behind the quality of wines made at Chambers Rosewood is that all the work is performed by hand and nothing is done hastily. The vineyard crew truly have their work cut out for them in protecting the vines and curbing the spread of disease. As ever, the focus is on producing the best quality fruit. Co-ordination of the harvest is a big job as it's reliant on the weather and vagaries of season, as various varieties and individual blocks ripen at different times. Sourced from material aged between six and ten years old, crafted to the fundamental Chambers Rosewood style, the final Muscat wine displays fresh raisin aromas, rich fruit, clean spirit and great length of flavour, the hallmarks of all Rutherglen fortifieds.
Light pale brown hue. Fresh raisin and evolved fruit complexity on the nose and palate. Long fine citrus and floral characters finishing cleanly and persistent on a drying pith finish.
