The House of Seppelt has created some of the most praiseworthy, historically significant, and highly awarded sparkling wines in Australian show history. Fleur de Lys is a popular, non vintage Cuvee, assembled from base wines across several harvests, bottle fermented to a level of complexity and consistency of style from year to year. Fashioned from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown to Seppelt's extensive and specialised cool climate vineyards, Fleur de Lys is soft and elegant in style with subtle, integrated fruit and yeasty aromas.
For more than 150 years, Seppelt has been at the forefront of Australian sparkling winemaking. Constantly innovating, Seppelt is attenuating it's sparkling Cuvee to remain topical and contemporaneous to modern palates. Established in 1851, the House of Seppelt is one of Australia's oldest wineries and has earned a reputation for producing premium quality wines that possess elegance and style. From good vineyards around many of of the best grape growing regions including Tumbarumba, Tooma, Strathbogie and the Yarra Valley. All of the component wines underwent secondary fermentation in the bottle and were matured on their yeast lees in the true Methode traditionelle.
Colour is a bright pale straw, the wine exhibits a fine persistent mousse. The nose is fresh and rich, lively aromatics of fruit with dandy florals. The full fruit characters follow through onto the palate with a touch of yeastiness. The finish is long and elegant, refreshingly crisp and clean.
