Chardonnay Pinot Noir Pinot Meunier Yarra Valley Victoria
The holy trinity of sparkling grapes in consumate Methode traditionelle. A cepage of Chardonnay for elegance, Pinot Noir and Meunier for palate weight and depth. Vintage Brut derives great complexity through a judicious selection of fruit from Chandon's rich endowment of cool climate vineyards, crafted to a diversity of extravagant handling techniques. Perfumes ranging from florals and yeast, to cashew and savoury, a measured elegance which continues alongside the rich and creamy textures of this flagship Cuvee.
Grapes are picked at the onset of fruit ripeness, throughout the cooler parts of day to preserve quality and ensure minimal colour is extracted during the press. All parcels are separately handled to preserve their unique character, over forty components are assembled into the final Cuvee. Chardonnay provides flavour and intensity at the front of palate. Pinot Noir contributes weight, focus to the back palate and persistent creamy finish that is the defining quality of Vintage Chandon. Chandon is disgorged and doseaged after an extended lees ageing, followed by a rest in bottle before release, infusing additional complexity into the aromas, while enhancing flavour and building creamy texture.
Bright, attractive golden yellow, fine bubbles and excellent mousse. A perfect combination of freshness, complexity and character, Chandon greets you with a perfume of roasted chestnuts, almond biscotti and lifted citrus blossom aromas. The palate exudes rich, creamy flavours, creme caramel, crisp stone fruit and nougat extending into the red berry, spice and dark cherry influence of Pinot Noir. A wonderful persistence and crisp, refreshing finish.
