Riesling Sauvignon Blanc Marsanne Roussanne McLaren Vale South Australia
The hallmark of this wine, is that it's a great value drink, anywhere and at anytime with most anyone. Every Stump Jump takes the drinker on a journey of engaging varietal fruit experiences. The dimension of flavour and textural richness brought about by a complex cépage of Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc, Marsanne and Rousanne, are heightened by a level of dryness and splendid integration. The palate is very fresh and tight, restrained fruit intensity and ripeness balanced with lovely crunchy acidity keeps the finish in check.
The stump jump plough worked so well in McLaren Vale that it was adopted worldwide in the late 19th century because of its ability to ride over stumps and gnarled roots. A mix of varietals which have proved themselves to be a popular blend right from the very first release. Fruit is picked at different levels of ripeness from a network of fine vineyards. Grapes are gently crushed and pressed into controlled fermenters for inoculation, some parcels are treated to partial vinification on skins. Upon completion, batches are taken to the tasting bench, more of a table really, where the team determine the final blend, bottled without any oak maturation to retain vital expressions of fresh grapes off the vine. Alcohol 11.7%
Light citrus green hue. Riesling contributes finesse, Sauvignon Blanc brings aromatics, Marsanne and Roussanne bring complexity, nuttiness and palate palate. An exotic mix of stonefruits and citrus, passionfruit, guava and tinned pineapple, a long savoury, nutty finish. The mouthfeel is rich and luscious without being overly oily, kept in check by a fine line of mineral acidity.
