You'd be barking up the wrong tree if you couldn't match a Fifth Leg to any occasion. Even if the food or company isn't up to the event, you know that you and the wine will have a devil of a time together. Elegance and finesse are qualities which set Fifth Leg apart. These characteristics are expressed strongly in every Fifth Leg, the combination of geology, geography and climes that are so unique. The core of fruit is sourced from good vineyards in Geographe and Margaret River. Following harvest and the crush, inoculation and vinification, some components are matured for a year in seasoned French oak barrels to add spice and complexity, the balance remains unoaked to retain vibrant, fresh fruit flavours.
Bright ruby red with purple hues. A concentrated fruit focused nose exhibiting a complex array of cassis, dark berry and chocolate aromas, supported by well integrated cedary oak. Juicy on the palate, cherries and plums from the tender Merlot component, the underlying chocolateyness of the subtle oak, combined with lovely Shiraz spice and all things nice.
