Sauvignon Blanc Riverland South Australia
Oxford Landing is an idyllic place of rich red soils and auspicious terrains, basking under an abundance of golden sunshine and clear blue skies, the perfect environment for growing grapes and making good wine. The highly accomplished Oxford Landing team craft a lively Sauvignon Blanc offering all the classic varietal characters, vivacious with tropical fruit, aromatic herbaceousness and brisk minerality, complexed by piquant nettle and lemon characters, crisp asparagus and fragrant grapefruit flower notes.
The Oxford Landing team set aside the more fertile sites for Sauvignon Blanc, allowing full, healthy canopies to provide the perfect microclimate for optimum flavour development. Diligent canopy management is an important part of the viticulture. Picking in the coolest part of morning is crucial to the outcome of the finished wine, as it preserves fresh fruit characters and permits maximum but gentle flavour extraction. Juices are handled to exclude air contact and preserve natural fruit flavours, while the cool fermentation with aromatic yeast strains brings the punchy varietal zest to Sauvignon Blanc. A component is vinified on skins, contributing an extra dimension of complexity. Alcohol 10.5%
