Some of these ancient plantings, emigrated at a time when much of Europe was ruled by Hapsburg emperors, remain productive to this day. Newer blocks were gradually established around these priceless parcels, ostensibly with a view to supplying leading national brands. The quality of fruit became so conspicuous that Grove Estate sanctioned industry celebrities from Ravensworth and Clonakilla to begin bottling under their own.. Quiet consummations of grove estate»

Bros Sam and Tom grew up amongst the vines of Valley Clare and ageing barrels of Shiraz Cabernet under the Jim Barry cellars. After a tour of study and travel, they came of age and returned to the family wineworks. It has been a rite of passage at Jim Barry that each new generation create a label of their own, one that reflects the times and contemporary tastes. They took a modern approach to the classic Australian blend of Cabernet and Shiraz, an approachable drink for red wine enthusiasts who don’t want to sniff and swish but prefer to share a good drop. A nod to the family heritage, the 1950s branding harks back to the era when grandparents Jim and Nancy established their first vineyards.
