The First Colonists to arrive in South Australia were brought to Kangaroo Island aboard HMS Buffalo in 1836. Sharing the journey was a veteran of the Royal Navy who had served aboard Lord Nelson's flagship HMS Victory. Frank Potts was an accomplished sailor and carpenter, he built many of the young colony's structures and trading vessels. Six generations later, the Potts family's precious plantings of Malbec have been a key component in many of the nation's most memorable and invaluable vintages for decades. A varietal that performs magnificently on the silty flood plains of Langhorne Creek, Bleasdale's pure Malbec bottlings are a profound statement about the.. Making the most magnificent malbec»
Torbreck of Barossa are one of Australia's great export brands, synonymous with luxury and excellence throughout the world of wine. Crafted from the fruit of old and ancient vineyards, the opulence and exclusivity of Torbreck's painfully limited production challenge the primacy of Grange. Established by a share cropper in the 1990s, its precious range has risen to the status of First Growth amongst the community of ardent international advocates. Woodcutter is the entry level, assembled from parcels which may have been destined for some of the brand's lofty icons, an essential experience for all enthusiasts of compelling Barossa Shiraz... Jack Mann reigns eternal as the greatest winemaker in the history of the Australian west. Jack Mann's son Tony grew up amongst the vineyards of Houghton but took a keener interest in things Cricket. He exelled at both pursuits but is best remembered as the legendary leg spinner Tony Rocket Mann. During his off seasons away from the pitch, Tony would plant parcels of vine alongside his illustruious father Jack and his own young son Robert. The fully grown Robert now makes his own wine, from fruit of the very vines sown by Jack and Tony Mann. Robert learned from his grandfather that great winemaking required a spiritual oneness with nature. The birds and the.. Whence the west was won»

Les Vignobles providing fruit for the vinification of Belleruche are spread out across several appellations along the Cotes du Rhône, Drôme and Vaucluse, Gard and Ardeche. Vines are planted on slightly varied soils, alluvial clays, sand and limestones, a patchwork which contributes extraordinary richness and complexity to the final wine. Grapes are all hand harvested at full maturity, destemmed and macerated over a period of fifteen days, extracting tannins and developing good structure which permits the ageing and guarantees stability of the wine. Following inoculation and vinification in a selection of traditional fermenters, Belleruche is aged in large oak vats and assembled in the spring.
Garnet red colour. Red fruit aromas, morello cherries and red liquorice, milled pepper, bay leaf and spice. The palate exhibits great structure, layered with crisp red currant and bramble fruit flavours, olives and applejack, before resolving on an engagingly aromtic finish, over a length of firm, sustained and silky tannins.
