The sensational vintages of St John's Road were generations in the making, the fruit of grand old vineyards and the progeny of families which have tilled Barossa soil since early settlement. Grapes are exclusively sourced from select vineyards in the Cote de Nuits, from plots of Domaine Chanson and from sites in the south of the Cote de Beaune. Soil types are mostly clay over limestone, which yield grapes exhibiting an immense concentration of flavours. All the grapes are hand picked at optimum maturity. A careful selection of Pinot Noir in the vineyard produce crunchy red wines with pure aromas. Grapes enter the fermentation vats in whole bunches for improved temperature control, gradual release of the sugars, and a more refined tannic structure. A cold maceration is followed by a long alcoholic fermentation for greater depth and expression of the wine's structural elements.
Bright red colour with dark purple hues. Intense aromas of violet and liquorice with a hint of spice. Concentrated and well structured. Refreshing and lively. Spicy characters on the finish. Super classic style og Burgundy, ideal with braised and roasted meats, as well as sauced meat pastas.
