Just three kilometres from Young along Murringo Road, planted to a brisk 500 metres above sea level, Grove Estate was originally sown to vines in 1886, by Croatian settlers who brought cuttings from their farms on the Dalmatian coast. Some of these ancient plantings, emigrated at a time when much of Europe was ruled by Hapsburg emperors, remain productive to this day. Newer blocks were gradually established around these priceless parcels, ostensibly with a view to supplying leading national brands. The quality of fruit became so conspicuous that Grove Estate sanctioned industry celebrities from Ravensworth and Clonakilla to begin bottling under their own estate moniker. The greater Hilltops region is renowned for elegantly structured Cabernet and Shiraz. Grove Estate go one better, they deliver harvests of the most princely Sangiovese, Nebbiolo and Barbera. Grove Estate's Flanders Fields is a decidedly Chardonnay dominant effervescent Cuvee, a true Methode Champenoise emulation of the great Crus from Cote des.. Quiet consummations of grove estate»

Scotch Whisky
Ballantine's is one of the world's great Whiskies and a story about perserverence, the pursuit of an ideal and the realization of an impossible dream. Ballantine's the Whisky is an exceptionally fine 12 Year Old, honey sweet, spicy and deep, a generously rich, smooth and complex spirit, blended from choice Single Malt and Grain Whiskies. Assembled into a whole that's greater than the sum of parts, characterized by a well rounded palate with the perfect balance of honey and oak, fruit and spice over a creamy texture before a clean, refreshing finish.
George Ballantine was born 1809 in Broughtonknowe, Peebleshire, the son of a farmer, poor and often hungry. He moved to Edinburgh, completed an apprenticeship and rented a small grocery at the age of eighteen. His enterprise grew and he began to specialize in Whisky, he was innovative and devised clever ways to bring his stock to consumers. He opened his first George Ballantine & Son shop in Edinburgh and a second in Glasgow. By the time George retired in 1883, his stores held 20,000 gallons of blended stock in bond. In 1895 his ultimate aspiration was realized when Ballantine's was awarded a prestigious Royal Warrant by Her Majesty Queen Victoria
