The development of Bin 51 Eden Valley Riesling marks a new chapter in a long history of Penfolds trail blazing endeavours in white winemaking. Penfolds has established and fostered Eden Valley vineyards which are entirely specialized for the yielding of world class Riesling grapes, suitable for flagship wines with the capacity for long term, elegant ageing. A subregion of the Barossa, Eden Valley is approximately 450 metres above sea level. The Penfolds vineyards are located on particularly lean soil structures. The higher altitudes mean a cooler growing season, ideal for the aromatic varietals, Riesling in particular. Bin 51 spends three months at rest before being bottled early to retain varietal elegance.
Pale straw with lime green hues. Highly aromatic and perfumed, primary lavender florals and native lime, wafts of Chinese dragon fruit and lychee complex the offer, epsom bath salts add interest. Fresh and lively palate, tropical fruits abound, flavours of lemon curd and lime sorbet meet with instant approval.
