The 1890s brought boom years to the nascent Aussie wine industry, as connoisseurs throughout Europe and the Empire were introduced to the Dionysian delights of new world Claret by Tyrrell, St Huberts and Wirra Wirra. An enterprising family of Scots took heed of the times to plant grapevines on a uniquely auspicious block in Valley Clare, they called it St Andrew and produced forty vintages of the most sensational quality Claret until the 1930s. The Taylor family acquired the fallow farm in 1995 and brought St Andrew's vines back to life. The precious half hectare at Faultline articulates the savouryness of seaweed and struck match. The sheltered lee of Haven Block encourages the grapes to bloom with chewy red jube characters. The windswept parcel at Meres infuses wonderfully perfumed rhubarb and ribena notes into a velvetine tannin structure. All are equally.. Venerable vintages from the most precious parcels»

Sangiovese is harvested from good sites in Puglia, husbanded by dedicated growers at complete ripeness, bunches are gently crushed to avoid harsh tannins and cold settled for optimal extractions. Ferments are vinified to dry and treated to a month of natural, spontaneous malolactic, followed by assemblage into the finished wine and bottling for a term of bottle age before release.
