Riesling Eden Valley South Australia
There is a tradition of quality, character and consistency that Wolf Blass brings to bear in the delicate Gold Label Riesling. Eden Valley's distinctive Riesling wines are famous throughout the world for all the right reasons. The wines are sensationally crisp and seamlessly integrated, so well harmonized in fact that whilst all the exciting varietal characters are discernible, they're integrated in a way that's completely sublime. A magnificent match to scallops or roast turkey with traditional stuffing.
Wolf Blass made a name for himself very early in his career as being particularly gifted at constructing the most remarkable Riesling wines. Established 1966 in the neighbouring Barossa Valley, the Wolf Blass wineworks have since acquired some of the Eden Valley's most superlative Riesling vineyards. Following harvest in the cool of night to maintain fruit freshness and the persuasive expressions of Eden Valley Riesling, the grapes are gently pressed before the free run juices are transferred to fermenters for cold settling. Inoculation is initiated and a temperature controlled vinification ensues to fully capture and retain the vital Eden Valley fruit characters in the finished wine.
Pale straw with vibrant green hues. Evocative aromas of green apples and feijoa, orange blossoms and rose petal over citrus notes, lemons and kaffir lime leaf. On the palate are Kaffir lime, nutmeg and apple, with a chalky acid structure which delivers a clean and lengthy finish. Enjoyable now and will continue to develop, enjoy with the freshest seafood, especially King George whiting.
