Scotch Whisky
Gordon & MacPhail, Family Grocers, Tea, Wine & Spirit Merchants Est 1895, were true fine Malt enthusiasts from the very first day of enterprise. They sourced the finest Highland Malts, to assemble their own house blend, but also to age and bottle as a pure Single Malt. They still retain access to precious stocks of the world famous Macallan Distillery Malt. Matured at Gordon MacPhail stores in select, refilled Sherry casks, Speymalt is a gentle Whisky with intense fruit, sublime mouthfeel and beguiling aromatics.
Established on the coast of Craigellachie, during the earliest days of legalised production in 1824, Macallan Distillery overlooks some of the finest fishing beats on River Spey. There is folklore of Whisky making on the Macallan site which dates back to the late 1700s, the Distillery still draws water from the flows of Ringorm Burn. It changed hands several times throughout the 19th century, eventually acquired by Elgin merchant Roderick Kemp in 1894, who struck an accord with the newly founded Gordon & MacPhail Merchants to deliver precious stocks of Macallan Speyside Malt.

Stewed sultanas, cinammon and festive spice, mulled wine aromas and a hint of nutmeg evolve. A mild spice with sweet Sherry flavours, hints of banana and pear, a lingering finish on a creamy milk chocolate edge.
