Chardonnay Margaret River Western Australia
Vinified from choice parcels of fruit, picked off a small block of Chardonnay vines on the Vasse Felix Karridale property, slightly south of Margaret River. This unusual section of Chardonnay stands out for its unique structure and flavour profile, ideally suited to the Blanc de Blancs style. Only a tiny volume is ever made. Idée Fixe is artfully whole bunch pressed and sent to oak for the indulgence of barrel ferments, followed a by a luxurious term of two long, languid years prior to riddling and disgorgement. A profound and memorable experience for the most discerning enthusiast.

Hand picked from a specialty vineyard in Karridale, calcareous soils, persistent cloud and biting cold winds from the Southern Ocean are favoured by unique clones of Chardonnay. Heritage at Vasse Felix provides an intimate understanding of Chardonnay growing and winemaking. Chardonnay grapes are hand harvested and whole bunch pressed, the majority of parts are sent to oak for a course of rich barrel ferments. Upon completion, batches are assembled and filled to bottle for a secondary vinification in true Methode traditionelle. Two years of bottle ageing and remuage on yeast lees contact is followed by disgorgement and liqueur dosage.
