Mount Difficulty are a commune of growers, established 1998 within the elite dress circle of Central Otago vineyards. Propitiously placed around the ancient goldfields of Cromwell Basin, their harvests had long been called upon for bottling under the labels of New Zealand's most conspicuous brands. Launched as a limited release of small batch, single block vintages, the co operative of accomplished growers, has evolved through critical acclaim and word of mouth, into a formidable range of Central Otago, defined by their excellence and exquisite eloquence of.. Just three kilometres from Young along Murringo Road, planted to a brisk 500 metres above sea level, Grove Estate was originally sown to vines in 1886, by Croatian settlers who brought cuttings from their farms on the Dalmatian coast. Some of these ancient plantings, emigrated at a time when much of Europe was ruled by Hapsburg emperors, remain productive to this day. Newer blocks were gradually established around these priceless parcels, ostensibly with a view to supplying leading national brands. The quality of fruit became so conspicuous that Grove Estate sanctioned industry celebrities from Ravensworth and Clonakilla to begin bottling under their own estate moniker. The greater Hilltops region is renowned for elegantly structured Cabernet and Shiraz. Grove Estate go one better, they deliver harvests of the most.. Quiet consummations of grove estate»

Dodgy invoices between the rivals were exchanged and the division of firewood became a further cause of contention. A truce was eventually called by the two protagonists, Brokenwood and Hungerford Hill, for the sake of healthy viticulture. The nascent blocks achieved international renown as the eminent Cricket Pitch and the Langtons Listed Graveyard Vineyard, establishing Brokenwood as one of the most cherished marques in Hunter Valley wine... Penfolds Bin 2 Shiraz Mataro CONFIRM VINTAGE

Shiraz Mourvedre South Australia
The abstruse Bin 2 saw its inaugural vintage in 1960 but was discontinued until the 1970s. Originally branded as an Australian Burgundy, Bin 2 has always been a soft, medium bodied mix of Mourverdre and Shiraz characterised by complexity and palate grip. Treated to a year's maturation in seasoned French and American oak, its succulent, juicy and fresh Rhônesque orientation is underpinned by an alluring savoury base of quinces and date pudding, decidedly old world in styling, the understated affluence of Bin 2 demands deliberation and calls for cuisine.
