The landed gentry along St John's Road represent a heritage of the most distinguished names in Australian viticulture, Lehmann and Lienert, Zander, Kalleske and Schutz. With each vintage, they earmark small parcels of the most exceptional Barossa fruit, to be treated to a course of traditional open ferments and term of age in the finest French oak. Brilliant gold hues. A powerful peat smoke, hinting at sea water saltiness, citrus sweetness and the liquor of fresh oyster. Succulent sweet notes of rich berry fruit, malt characters and developing warmth, a rich dried fruit sweetness, fragrant barley, warming and intense. At the back of the palate are an explosion of fruits, a warming savoury finish on a length of tropical chocolate orange flavours.
