Beverford Swan Hill Victoria
Caspia means flora and fauna, a tribute to matriarch Valerie Buller's lifelong interest in her garden and native birds. Caspia can be enjoyed at any time of the year as aperitif or alongside all good food.
The Buller vineyards were established in 1921 and are still home to the family matriarch. Valerie Buller is still actively involved in the estate's operations, her background as one of the first ever female wine sales reps in Australia endowed her with a formidable business mind. Caspia's grapes hail from Swan Hill, a winegrowing region that's blessed by a sunny climate, good soils and ample water. Components from estate vineyards form the backbone, around which parcels from good local growers are assembled, some of whom have supplied Buller for generations. Inoculated and vinified in tank with the use of modern equipment and refrigeration to preserve the vitality of fruit. Alcohol 8.5%
Brilliant pale pink. Aromas of ripe strawberry, paw paw and a whiff of pineapple. Strawberry/ cherry sweetness and raspberry flavours mingle with pineapple acidity. Grapey sweetness on the mid palate counterbalanced by the tingle of fresh acidity. Lingering ripe fruit flavours. Will accompany spicy Asian dishes beautifully, especially sweet and sour. Best served chilled and young.
