Formulated by maestro Tito Cordero, only the third ever Rum Master in the distinguished history of Distilerias Unidas S.A Venezuela. Diplomatico Ambassador is assembled exclusively from pure heavy pot still Rums and aged for a minimum of twelve years, initially in seasoned Bourbon casks before finishing in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks. Diplomatico Ambassador has taken many years to complete, the finest, most complex of spirits exhibiting an exceptionally smooth palate endowed by extraordinary structure and lingering, memorable Rum fruit characters.
To think of Diplomatico Ambassador as a new Rum would be fanciful, as Tito Cordero spent many years perfecting the components. Beginning with an isolation of the most exquisite cane honeys, the fermented wash is distilled in copper pots before being refined in a smaller continous still. Over the next twelve years, the alchemy between seasoned oak cask and cane alcohol takes place. Diplomatico Ambassador contains no sweeteners, caramel or other additives, it's high strength 47% means it does not require chill filtration. This ensures that fatty acids contribute to the mouth feel and flavour for an exceptionally smooth finish
