Egon Müller is a member of Primum Familiae Vini, a small group of elite family winemakers, which includes Mouton Rothschild and Pol Roger, Hugel and Robert Mondavi. Müller is the only German in the group. The Müllers have been producing some of the world's most enduring wines for well over a century, Egon is considered by his peers to be Germany's leading winemaker. Riesling Kabinett is fermented mostly through the action of wild yeasts in old, thousand litres oak foudres. The wines are raised in ancient cellars which were built by mediaeval monks. The deep, very cold and damp environments make the perfect environment in which to gently age the wines, built for the long haul.
Pale golden hues. Quartz and lime, citrus and honeysuckle nose. Stonefruit, slate and floral palate, a steely bite of acidity and minerality give it a racy, kinetic feel under fresh green apple and lime notes.
