Grown to the frigid climes of Central Otago, the vines at Prophet's Rock were established 1999 to the most auspicious sites in the nether regions around the ancient goldfields of Bendigo Creek. Challenging aspects with breathtaking views of Cromwell Basin and Pisa Ranges, these are places defined by their fortuitous soils and favourable climes, tiny parcels of vine capable of just a few hundred cases each vintage, picked for their confluence of growing conditions and husbanded by a devout cadre. A blend of Hellyers Road Original Single Malt with a pinch of Peated Inverness Malt, aged in American Bourbon barrel oak, non chill filtered for excellence, an engaging new world style of Whisky with just a delicate hint of farmyard and the wild outdoors. A pinch of peat is subtly released in a lazy whiff of smokiness, zesty shavings of orange and lemon peel, milled pepper and ginger, a well rounded Whisky of untamed bucolic interest over tangy, citrus fruit flavours which linger delightfully on the finish, a smooth, nurturing glow on the aftertaste.
