All Macallan bottled as a single malt has been aged in oak casks which have held maturing sherry for a number of years in southern Spain. Most of these casks are from oak forests in northern Spain (Galicia), but some American oak casks will also have been utilized to give slightly different flavours and a more delicate, paler colour.
