Rolf Binder is one of the Barossa's quiet achieving superstars, recipient of the most conspicuous national accolades, Barossa Winemaker of Year and Best Small Producer, Best Barossa Shiraz Trophy and coveted listing in the illustrious Langtons Classification of Australian Wine. Yarra Valley is Victoria's oldest wine region, renowned for producing sophisticated Chardonnay wines of the highest order. Zilzie have assembled parcels of the best fruit to compose an elegant and refined example. Compelling nectarine flavours are complemented by a subtle creamy texture and refreshing minerality. Match Zilzie with chicken caesar and all good luncheon faire or a crispy skin barramundi for dinner.

Zilzie are located just a stone's throw from the mighty River Murray on the outskirts of Red Cliffs, just south of Mildura in northwest Victoria. The winemaking team take a hand in every stage of the process, from tasting grapes in the vineyard to ensuring each parcel is separately handled for the retention of clean varietal fruit character. Harvests of Chardonnay from good vineyards in the Yarra Valley are promptly brought to the Zilzie wineworks for vinification. After inoculation, juices are transferred to a selection of new, one and two year old French oak barriques for fermentations. Upon completion the finished wine spends six months in barrel being treated to battonage, building complexity and palate texture. Alcohol 13.5%
Pale straw with green hues. A bright fruit forward nose lead by nectarine, spice and citrus aromas. Flavours of melon, mango and grapefruit on an elegant, fruit driven palate, supported by lovely creamy textures and a fine, refreshing minerality.
