The story of Langmeil begins with early Barossa settlement, planted to Shiraz by Christian Auricht in the 1840s, the estate vineyards were restored by the Lindner and Bitter families during the 1990s. Some of Herr Auricht's original plantings are still in production, three and a half priceless acres of gnarled, dry grown vines which provided the cuttings for much of Langmeil's refurbished heirloom parcels. Warre's launch of Otima Old Tawny caused a revolution in Port that introduced a completely new concept, rejuvenating Port's appeal to younger enthusiasts. Otima is now widely acknowledged as the most successful new development in the Port trade for over 25 years. Otima is is a non vintage ten year old Tawny Port with light delicate palate, contemporarily fashioned in an attractive modern bottle.

The merit of Otima was to show Port's versatility as an all year round, anytime drink, appealing to both women and men, dispelling many of the myths attached to Tawny Old Port. A blend of traditional Portuguese varietals from the Douro Valley, Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz and Tinto Cão. Fruit is vinified at 24�C to 28�C by the action of natural yeasts. Once the must has achieved desired degree of sweetness, usually within forty eight hours, the wine is fortified by the addition of a 77% grape brandy, a balance of 80% must and 20% brandy.
Rich tawny colour. Excellent nose of nuts and hints of mature fruit. On the palate light and delicate, beautifully rounded, with hints of dried fruits and long elegant finish. Decanting is not required, Otima is ready to drink on release and will maintain its quality within the bottle. Serve slightly chilled or at at room temperature, superb with cheese, nuts or dried fruit after a meal or on its own.
