Right around the time that Frank Potts was planting his nascent Bleasdale Vineyards during the 1850s, an eccentric Prussian named Herman Daenke established a homestead along the banks of Bremer River, which he called Metala. The site was planted to viticulture by Arthur Formby in 1891 and became one of Langhorne Creek's most productive vineyards, it continues to supply fruit for a number of prestigious national brands. Legendary winemaker Brian Dolan took the radical step of bottling Metala under its own label in 1959 and won the inaugural Jimmy Watson Trophy in 1962. Two generations later, the brothers Tom and Guy Adams took a similar leap of faith and.. The goodly farms of brothers in arms»
Longview are one of the most highly awarded wineries in Adelaide Hills, inducted into the South Australia Tourism Hall of Fame for their stately homesteads and the sublime excellence of their vintages. A place of pristine viticulture and breathtaking beauty, where native gums flourish with wild abandon amongst the closely husbanded plantings. It's all captured within the fruit of the wines themselves, the purity of varietal expression, the elegance of tannins and seamless textures, Longview are all about encouraging the grace of a truly resplendent harvest, to retain its eloquence from vineyard to bottling... Some precious old blocks of ancient vine Grenache still remain after a government sponsored program to cull unproductive vineyards during the 1980s. Yielding excruciatingly small harvests of the most characterful fruit, these wizzened old veterans deliver small batch vintages which are evocative of the old world classics from Cotes du Rhone. The enduring Wirra Wirra were established 1894, their eclectic range belies the splendour of small parcels which are separately handled and bottled for exclusive release. The Absconder draws fruit from vines planted a century ago, it merits a breathing and decant, an articulation about the sublime excellence of old vine.. The compelling case for old vines grenache»
Dr Frederick Kiel would take the trek by paddle steamer from Melbourne every summer during the late 1800s to spend his summers at Sorrento. His children established a grazing station nearby, on a property acquired from the Baillieu family along Portsea Ocean Beach, ultimately planted to vineyards in 2000. These are the most extreme western longitudes of Mornington, the undulating paddocks and sweeping views of tempestuous Bass Strait are a magical place for growing Burgundesque styles of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, well protected north facing parcels of propitious free draining limestone and calcareous sands. Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Tin Mailbox Gift Box CONFIRM VINTAGE

Chardonnay Pinot Noir Pinot Meunier French Champagnes, Reims France
A Champagne brand is ultimately judged on the quality of its non Vintage Brut. It is in the making of such a wine where Veuve Clicquot excels. An assemblage of fruit from as many as sixty different Crus, Yellow Label reflects stately vineyards and consistency of style from year to year. The predominance of Pinot Noir provides the structure that is so essential to Clicquot, while a touch of Pinot Meunier rounds out the blend. Chardonnay adds the elegance and finesse essential in a perfectly balanced wine.
It is the pursuit of excellence, a devotion to the art of Methode Traditionelle and the exceptional quality of fruit which are the fundamentals. Traditionally Pinot Noir dominates the cepage followed by Chardonnay and a fifth of Pinot Meunier, depending on the conditions of vintage. The Cellar Master has to achieve the total consistency of taste, which makes Brut Yellow Label so immediately recognisable, so utterly reliable in terms of quality, palate and bouquet. He will draw on priceless reserve wines, sometimes as much as 40% to ensure the continuity of style. Each of these older wines, perhaps nine years old, is kept separately to preserve the unique qualities of the vineyard and vintage.
Golden yellow, a foaming necklace of tiny bubbles. White fruits and raisin bouquet, vanilla and brioche, a fine balance between the fruit characters of three varietal grapes and toasty aromas from age in bottle. The first sip delivers all the freshness and forcefulness of Yellow Label, a symphony of fruit, well structured, admirably vinous. The lingering bouquet seems to echo, Yellow Label reconciles forcefulness and finesse, in perfect balance.
