Glenmorangie was established in 1843, when William Matheson bought a license to Distill Whisky on the site of a brewery located near Tarlogie Springs. A pair of antique gin Stills were pressed into service and Highland Malt began to flow. Glenmorangie went on to flourish, to this day, one of the world's most distinguished Distilleries. The word Or means gold in both Gaelic and French for gold, a reference to the rich golden colour which evolves as Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or matures in a selection the finest French oak Sauternes wine casks.
Dark apricot treacle hue. Lime and orange rind bouquets, sultana and dates, a rich fruity nose laced by tantalising spiced coconut and freshly grated nutmeg. Ginger and toasted almond palate, a deep, warming taste interwoven by a syrup notes, lemon meringue and honeycomb characters.
