Chardonnay Langhorne Adelaide South Australia
The benchmark in Langhorne Creek Chardonnay, vinified from the choicest parcels grown to some of the nation's most fertile soils. Whilst Bleasdale is steeped in the history of Australian red winemaking, it maintains a flair for exuberant whites. A dry, lightly wooded style showing attractive fresh lingering flavours of pear juice, melons and peach. A jubilant white to enjoy lively and young, alongside your favourite chicken, white meat and seafood recipes for maximum enjoyment.
Established 1850, Bleasdale make honest, consistent, reliable wines which are enjoyed throughout the world. The vineyards are situated on the fertile flood plains of the Bremer River, which runs parallel to Langhorne Creek. The region still experiences natural floods from the high rainfall that gushes out of the Adelaide Hills and heads towards the sea from time to time. The deluge gives vines a deep soaking drink just before the parching Australian summer. Chardonnay grapes are treated to a gentle press, oxidative juice handling, whole bunch vinification with a portion of oak barrel ferments, for a month on grape solids, through the action of wild indigenous yeasts. Alcohol 12.0%
Pale yellow hue. Lifted peach stonefruit aromas with a hint of lemon zest and touch of nutmeg. A palate of bright varietal characters showing pear, lemons and melon, displaying good acid balance, citrus, with notes of cinnamon and nutmeg derived from the barrel ferment component. A well balanced Chardonnay with fruit dominance and good complexity while retaining vibrant aromatics.
