Geoff Hardy's family have been making Australian wine since 1857. Geoff grew up amongst the most distinguished vineyards in our land and he knows from good red wine. He retains access to the finest fruit in McLaren Vale and is the man behind many of our nation's most memorable vintages. Undercover is a moniker that Geoff has assigned to a collation of exceptional parcels, albeit bottled behind an abstruse label to secrete the provenance of a spectacular Shiraz. Gold Medal Winner & Best Value at the hotly contested 2016 China Wine & Spirit Awards, the pick of crop this week, seriously.. Sound shiraz for the savvy & shrewd»
Stephen C. Pannell is one of Australia's most decorated winemakers, Jimmy Watson and twice Max Schubert Trophy winner, London International Winemaker of Year and Chairman National Wine Show. Pannell grew up amongst the illustrious plantings of his parents vineyards at Moss Wood, he established the profoundly artisanal Picardy of Pemberton and found time in between tours of duty at Wirra Wirra, Tintara and BRL Hardy, to do vintage in Burgundy, at the illustrious Mouton Rothschild and amongst the grand old vines of Barolo. Whatever the brand, regardless of vintage, S.C. Pannell's extraordinary wines are all distinct for their remarkable splendour, beguiling multi dimensionalism and breathtakingly seamless.. Peerless value by our nation's finest»
Established 1973, Woodlands of Wilyabrup were one of the first vineyards in Margaret River, planted with a view to emulating the great growths of Bordeaux. Recipients of the highly prestigious Jack Mann Memorial Medal and Wine Industry Lifetime Achievement Award for their tremendous vintages of all things Cabernet. Assembling the rich Medoc style blends are what Woodlands do best. Painstakingly crafted by hand, to challenge the primacy of the illustrious Chateaux de la rive gauche, very few vineyards yield the quality of fruit that merits vintaging into a statuesque wine dominated by the prettily fragrant Cabernet Franc. Woodlands were established from the ground up with a view to achieving limited.. The complex bordeaux blend by one of margaret river's founding wineries»
Gary and Nick Farr are father and son, they make wine together but aren't afraid to go head to head when their opinions differ. Nick grew up amongst some of the world's most sacred vineyards, he knows about the land and found a magnificent little site, barely east of Lake Colac. Irrewarra is the vigneron's shangri-la, prepared for viticulture by generations of grazing and eons of the sobering south sea breezes, which stimulate vines to yield meagre harvests of parched little grapes, sleek of tannin and rich in flavour. Vintaged in excruciatingly limited lots, there are fully two styles of Irrewarra on offer, a grapefruit and oyster shell Chardonnay, a Pinot Noir of pasture and of place, both finished to.. Villa Loco Barossa Shiraz 2008 CONFIRM 2008 VINTAGE

Shiraz Barossa South Australia
Villa Loco allows nature to do its work, to yield fruit which is minimally handled, allowing the ferments to progress in a slow and easy manner. Selection of site and minimalist handling of the fruit are central. This allows the wines to reflect the perfection of nature. The end result is a Shiraz which expresses the varietal profile and regional character from whence it originates.
The winemaking team work closely with the growers to nurture parcels of grapes that are just right for the style of wine which is Villa Loco. Fruit is delivered to the winery in pristine condition, sorted and transferred to fermenters. Mother nature is never interrupted should wild yeasts begin the ferments, which are temperature controlled and coordinated, to retain the primary characters of the Shiraz, and to preserve the expression of the Barossa vineyards. Villa Loco is treated to an extended maturation in a combination of tightly grained oak barrels, which serve to fully integrate the wine, soften the tannins and enhance complexity.
A deeply coloured wine. Aromas of pan grille and plum, anise and cocoa. Dark plums and bramble characters are conjoined by spice, cigarbox and menthol. The impressions follow through onto the dark cherry, plum and pepper, medium bodied palate. An exemplary Shiraz of intensity and persistence, its rolling tannins and mouthfilling fruit culminate in a finish of sweet spice with licorice, cardamon, pitch and plum.
